“Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear. ”
~ Harry Truman
“Our, the American People’s” media are pressing on with continuing stories on speculation over President-to-be Donald J. Trump’s pending tariffs (trade taxes). Why governments can’t find it in their benevolent hearts to stay away from people changing goods and services for goods and services may never be known. No surprise for President Taft to note people can’t stop making rules for other people.
“Whenever they burn books they will also, in the end, burn human beings.”
~ Heinrich Heine
“We, the American People,” along with people of Mexico and Canada could, if we and they put our collective feet down, put an end to governments using trade taxes (tariffs) as a way to control socio-economic outcomes. Government policy makers, however, can’t (more likely won’t) resist their urge to have their personal attitudes, values, and beliefs (PAVB) made lawfully compulsory. Unnecessary.
“A war, even the most successful one, is a national misfortune.”
~ Helmuth James
There Is No Sound Reason for “Us, the American People” to think our business owners can’t negotiate favorable trade terms for their customers. Similarly, there is no reason for us to think American entrepreneurs are not able to compete with foreign businesses for America’s consumer dollars. PAVB tariffs (trade taxes), arguably, limit consumer choice, and, arguably, disincentivize global competition.
“The spirit of truth and the spirit of freedom — they are the pillars of society.”
~ Henrik Ibsen
Government Justifies Trade Taxes (tariffs) by defining such taxes as necessary to bolster government-defined values – meaning values aligned with government policy makers. It would not be unreasonable to say government policy makers would deny out-of-country medical travel if those policy makers thought such travel would reflect negatively on their country’s medical capabilities. Choice suffers.
“One of the qualities of liberty is that, as long as it is being striven after, it goes on expanding. Therefore, the man who stands in the midst of the struggle and says, ‘I have it,’ merely shows by doing so that he has just lost it.”
~ Henrik Ibsen
People Opting To Live In Liberty do not allow legislators – or other public officials within These United States of America, to enter into contracts with collective bargaining units. They forbid government from confiscating their property.
“You should never wear your best trousers when you go out to fight for freedom and liberty.”
~ Henrik Ibsen

“Nothing is more difficult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.”
~ Napoleon Bonaparte
“No tendency is quite so strong in human nature as the desire to lay down rules of conduct for other people.”
~ President Taft

“Whatever the issue, let freedom offer us a hundred choices, instead of having government force one answer on everyone.”
~ Harry Browne
Brainchild Of “Our, the American People’s” President-to-be Donald J. Trump’s Department Of Government Efficiency (DOGE) could be doomed to fail. If a reported media writer/GOP strategist has a handle on America’s coming political climate. Writer/strategist has it GOP majority Congress might be unable to get together on how to integrate DOGE into long-standing ways Congress does business.
“The free market punishes irresponsibility. Government rewards it.”
~ Harry Browne
“We, the American People,” if we’re serious about, by hook or crook, getting more palatable results from Congress – from law-makers at virtually any level – might fare better if we kept legislators from doing as much. Legislators, when they get involved in, say, bridge-building, typically, end up deciding how bridge-building shall be carried out, no matter if there are several ways bridges can be built.
“Government seems to operate on the principle that if even one individual is incapable of using his freedom competently, no one can be allowed to be free.”
~ Harry Browne
It Is “Us, the American People” who pay for government to decide how we shall be allowed to build bridges – or do much of anything government officials decide shall be their shots to call. Government regulators don’t go to better schools, academically, than private sector engineers. No reason why government regulators need lawful power to oversee private sector engineers. Artisans are artisans.
“For those looking for security, be forewarned that there’s nothing more insecure than a political promise.”
~ Harry Browne
President-To-Be Donald J. Trump’s DOGE will do little than pay DOGE employee salaries without Congressional blessing for DOGE initiatives. Presidents propose, Congress disposes. Or, Congress appropriates money for presidents to disperse. Follow public money trail, one finds we, ordinary people, ante up. Since we, a sovereign citizenry, ante up, we can, if we so choose, cinch purse strings.
“Liberty is always dangerous, but it is the safest thing we have.”
~ Harry Hoiles
People Wanting To Live In Liberty do not allow legislators – or other public officials within These United States of America, to define or limit their 10th Amendment powers beyond specific Constitutional constraint. They exercise their citizen sovereignty to protect their life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness – by forceful means if necessary.
“There is no such thing as a majority right. Only those who understand and act according to this principle can promote true freedom.”
~ Harry Hoiles

“Our, the American People’s” post-Election 2024 media outlets have circulated more than a few articles addressing reasons why democrats lost their legislative edge. Comparable articles have addressed how ‘liberals’ are reacting to, and intend reacting to, Election 2024 with strategies of isolation, insurrection, secession. A Congressional ‘liberal’ Senator says liberals did it to themselves.
“You should never wear your best trousers when you go out to fight for freedom and liberty.”
~ Henrik Ibsen
It’s Worth Reviewing ‘Liberal’ Philosophy. Liberal philosophy is, references accurate, private property, neutral law, governed consent, property and individual rights, human rights. How such aims are realized, and by whom, is a matter of government activism. Choice would qualify as a human right. Who’s choosing is not so cut and dry. Hard to show how, for example, aborted babies have a choice.
“Beware how you trifle with your marvelous inheritance, this great land of ordered liberty, for if we stumble and fall, freedom and civilization everywhere will go down in ruin.”
~ Henry Cabot Lodge
All Said And Done, Election 2024 losers lost Election 2024 because voters chose against them. Whether verifiable reasons for Election 2024 voter choices can be shown is of all but no consequence for “Us, the American People.” Wouldn’t be much of a stretch to say Election 2024 voters exchanged one crop of power-seekers for another power-seeker crop. Both winners and losers covet lawful power.
“A wise man will not leave the right to the mercy of chance, nor wish it to prevail through the power of the majority. There is but little virtue in the action of masses of men.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
No Election Since America Started holding elections has freed Americans from government repression. No American election can protect Americans from government repression. Election winners, regardless their political persuasion, their campaign promises, their vow to uphold Constitutionality, act to govern by lawful coercion. And will, till we, a sovereign citizenry, stop them.
“The fate of the country does not depend on how you vote at the polls — the worst man is as strong as the best at that game; it does not depend on what kind of paper you drop into the ballot-box once a year, but on what kind of man you drop from your chamber into the street every morning.”
~ Henry David Thoreau
People Intending To Live In Liberty do not allow legislators – or other public officials within These United States of America, to interfere in business matters between private citizens in any way so long as those dealings are free of fraudulent behavior by all parties and do not encourage threats to national security by foreign powers or known enemies of the United States of America. They stand by their right to use their property as they see fit.
“It is not desirable to cultivate a respect for the law, so much as for the right. The only obligation which I have a right to assume is to do at any time what I think right.”
~ Henry David Thoreau

“Wherever politics intrudes upon economic life, political success is readily attained by saying what people like to hear rather than what is demonstrably true. Instead of safeguarding truth and honesty, the state then tends to become a major source of insincerity and mendacity.”
~ Hans Sennholz
There’s A Media Article Floating about reporting President-to be Donald J. Trump’s pick to deal with America’s illegal immigrant/migrant/refugee (IIMR) situation and a major city mayor have had a run-in over IIMR ‘management.’ “Our, the American People’s” two guardians of justice, reportedly, didn’t agree on how IIMR are to be handled. Trump guy accused mayor of breaking our immigration law.
“Sound money and free banking are not impossible; they are merely illegal.”
~ Hans Sennholz
Trump Guy, Doing Battle with mayor guy, is said to have cited Title 8, U.S. Code 1324. Said law, reportedly, makes giving safe harbor to immigrants without papers a no-no. Also a no-no under code is obstructing federal officers going about their duty. “We, the American People” can lay odds no American government official owns up to breaking law; it would be a matter of lawful interpretation.
“I freed thousands of slaves. I could have freed thousands more if they had known they were slaves.”
~ Harriet Tubman
It Would Be An Error for “Us, the American People” to think legislators and courts do not deal with America’s laws based on magistrate and legislator personal attitudes, values, and beliefs (PAVB). Hard to find fault, in a way, for them doing so. Our legislative-judicial standards, if we are to see them so, are open to interpretation. Otherwise, neither law nor court finding would be subject to debate.
“A welfare state is frightened of every poor person who tries to get in and every rich person who tries to get out.”
~ Harry Browne
We Would Be Consummate Fools to think President-to-be Donald J. Trump’s policies and complementary Congressional/judicial goings-on will meet with legislative or judicial acclaim and accord. Or, public, activist, academic, or media acclaim and accord. Government can’t refrain from making socio-economic decision fostering outcry from all corners. By denouncing self-government.
“The government is good at one thing. It knows how to break your legs, and then hand you a crutch and say, ‘See if it weren’t for the government, you wouldn’t be able to walk’.”
~ Harry Browne
People Intending To Live In Liberty do not allow legislators – or other public officials within These United States of America, to overrule Commonwealth/State (10th Amendment) Sovereignty as determined and defined by citizens of those respective Commonwealths and States. They uphold limited government without equivocation.
“The police can’t stop an intruder, mugger, or stalker from hurting you. They can pursue him only after he has hurt or killed you.”
